I've owned a few shredders at home that have broken down on me. You know the story...you start shredding and before you know you get impatient so you jam too many sheets and the teeth jam up. You unclog the jam, but the thing never works again, or if it does it just ain't the same.

This thing has been a dream. I've only shoved about 10 or so sheets at a time because I'm leery of ever over-cramming a shredder again, but this one easily handles that much. I think it claims to handle up to 16 sheets at a time. One thing I love is there are a series of bars that light up on the top of the shredder to indicate the load. I.e., if you shove 16 sheets at a time, all of the bars will light up, letting you know it can't handle more than that at a time.

It's got some other nice features as well. I love the large waste bin, which means I don't have to empty the thing after every 3 sheets of paper, which is the case with smaller shredder bins. The shredding quality is fantastic, and it has yet to jam up on me after doing a lot of shredding.

Last but not least, the noise emitted is about the best you could get from a shredder. Shredders are inherently noisy. This one is not noisy. That's not to say it's silent, but I think you'd be pleasantly surprised to hear this thing hum when it's in action.

It just does its job, and it does it well. I would highly recommend this shredder if you're in the market for a high quality shredder. Sure, I saw plenty of others out there that cost less, but buying this one means I don't have to deal with the hassle of it breaking down on me. I bought this unit to replace the severely underpowered and cheap shredder I had picked up from Staples a few years back. The old unit was tiny, loud and could only handle 1-2 sheets at a time without running into issues (despite claiming it could handle 6 sheets). I had underestimated how much I would use the shredder, so I probably should have gone for something like this in the first place.

This unit is a bit larger than I expected, sort of like a short kitchen trash can, but moves freely on the casters that come with it. The operation is very quiet, even when chewing up multiple sheets of paper. I found that I could feed it around 8 sheets at a time before things would get bogged down. (I don't want to stress the machine, hoping that it'll last me a long time.)

It has a great meter on the top of the unit that indicates how much work the shredder is doing. I try to keep it just shy of the maximum (about 8 sheets) and generally feed it about 3-4 sheets at a time. The container that holds the shredded remains is very spacious and can probably hold a few hundred sheets worth of shredded material before it has to be emptied.

The only gripe I can think of is the cost. I believe I paid $180 for it when I bought mine, which seems like a lot for a shredder, but you can tell that the money is well spent. This is such an improvement over my previous shredder. It's bigger than I need, but it is very solid and extremely quiet compared to what I'm used to. Very nice paper shredder. I love the quietness of it! I did count 15 pieces paper and placed it in the shredder and it shredded them effortlessly. I did try to fool it and put in 20 pieces of paper and it would not accept it. If it senses that your fingers are to close to the opening it will not shred until you pull your fingers back a little. Pretty amazing machine! I'm waiting for it to talk!! :)

This shredder is the BEST I have ever owned. It is powerful and easy to use. Fellows has a super product support line. I called them before I bought the unit. Their superior support waived all concerns I had. Yes, it is expensive but it does not tire like the smaller shredders. It has a very large capacity shred basket that is easy to pull out. The directions are easy to use. Good safety features to protect little fingers. If you bought a $50.00 vacuum what would you get for your money? The same is true with shredders. The price on Amazon is superlative. I received the unit very quickly. It was well packed with no factory defects. I wonder why I didn't buy this earlier to save myself all sorts of annoyance? Because I kept hoping for the elusive cheap shredder that does not exist. But read the direction books. Shredders NEED Oil every time you empty the basket. And shredders hate sticky labels...this will destroy any shredder. Do yourself a favor and cut them up with a scissors and then clean scissors with nail polish remover.
